Writing is the IELTS skill candidates spend the most time on and improve at the slowest. That's not a coincidence. Writing is the only criterion-scored skill where you don't get immediate feedback from your own performance. You finish an essay, you submit it, you wait. Without a trained eye reading it, you have no way to know if you wrote a Band 6 or a Band 7.

The Writing Masterclass solves that. Seven sessions across the summer, every one built around real student work scored live and rebuilt criterion by criterion. You see exactly what the examiner sees, exactly when they see it, on writing produced by people at your level.

The series covers essays, GT letters, and chart analyses. Sessions run every two weeks. Free to attend live. Once the series closes on October 5, the recordings move to the paid archive.

What changes after the series:

• You can identify the exact criterion that's holding your overall band down, and stop preparing for the wrong one
• You write introductions that score, regardless of task type
• You develop arguments instead of stating ideas
• You recognise the IELTS Task 2 question type before you write a single word
• You handle chart analyses with proper overviews, not data dumps
• You stop stacking basic linkers and start placing cohesion where it counts
• You walk away with a printable vocabulary checklist you can use on every piece of writing from that point on

The seven sessions:

1. The 5 Most Common IELTS Writing Mistakes (June 28)
The five mistakes that appear in almost every IELTS Writing submission, across essays, letters, and chart analyses. We diagnose all five live, show you what they look like in real student work, and give you the fix for each one. Most candidates make all five and don't realise. Fix them and your Band 6 becomes a Band 7, without learning new vocabulary or grammar.

2. How to Write a Strong IELTS Introduction (Task 1 and Task 2) (July 12)
Introductions across all three task types. Paraphrasing the prompt without copying it. Side-by-side comparisons of Band 5 and Band 7 introductions for essays, letters, and chart analyses. Students rewrite weak introductions live. Your introduction sets the examiner's expectation for the rest of your writing. Most candidates lose marks in the first two sentences.

3. Developing Arguments: How Band 7 Essays Build a Position (July 26)
The difference between stating an idea and developing it. Topic sentences. Supporting evidence. Examples that earn marks instead of filling space. Live argument-building exercises. This is the session that explains why Band 6 essays plateau, and how to push them through.

4. The 5 IELTS Task 2 Question Types: Why Most Candidates Answer the Wrong One (August 9)
There are five Task 2 question types: opinion, discussion, problem and solution, advantages and disadvantages, two-part. Most candidates write the same essay regardless of which they receive. Doing this destroys Task Response automatically and caps your overall band. We classify five real prompts live and outline the correct response for each.

5. Describing Trends and Data: The Task 1 Academic Chart (August 23)
How to analyse charts, graphs, and diagrams. Overview vs detail. The vocabulary of trends. Why "rose sharply" outscores "went up" and why "plateaued" outscores "stayed the same." Without an overview, Academic Task 1 caps at Band 5. This session fixes that.

6. Coherence and Cohesion: Why Your Writing Feels Disjointed (September 6)
What Coherence and Cohesion actually means across all three task types. Logical flow, cohesive devices, paragraph structure. The overuse of "however," missing topic sentences, unclear pronoun references. Why fewer linkers, placed inside sentences, score higher than four linkers stacked at the start of every paragraph.

7. The IELTS Vocabulary That's Holding You Back, and What to Use Instead (September 20)
The final session. The vocabulary problem isn't difficulty, it's precision. The words and phrases candidates use because they sound "academic" are the same ones that signal Band 5 to examiners. Overused linkers, vague hedges, misused academic words, empty intensifiers, register slips. 25–30 specific Band 5 to Band 7 upgrades across all three task types. Every attendee receives a downloadable PDF checklist with every upgrade from the session, organised by category, that you can use on every piece of writing from that point on.

Who this is for

You're preparing for IELTS Writing, Academic or General Training. You've plateaued somewhere between Band 5.5 and Band 6.5 and you're not sure why. You've studied grammar and vocabulary but your score won't move.

The Writing Masterclass answers why, and shows you exactly what to fix.

Speaking is the IELTS skill where every mistake happens in real time. You hear a slip, you stop to fix it, and the examiner hears hesitation where they wanted fluent English. Most candidates prepare for Speaking the way they prepare for Writing, with grammar rules and memorised answers. The examiner is listening for much more than that.

Speaking Unlocked covers all three parts of the test and all four criteria the examiner scores: Fluency and Coherence, Grammatical Range and Accuracy, Pronunciation, and Lexical Resource. Every session is built on the official band descriptors and on official IELTS sample answers with the examiner's own comments. You hear what separates Band 6 from Band 7, then practise it live in the chat.

Four sessions, every two weeks, on Sundays at 11:00 Dubai time. Free to attend live. The series closes on November 15, and the recordings stay free until November 30 before they move to the paid archive.

What changes after the series:

• You stop interrupting yourself to fix small grammar slips, and you know which mistakes are actually worth fixing
• You have natural phrases that buy you thinking time without making you sound stuck
• You know which mistakes your first language puts into your English, and how to drill them out before test day
• You use the one-minute prep in Part 2 properly and talk for the full two minutes
• You speak in chunks the examiner can follow, with English rhythm in place of flat, syllable-by-syllable delivery
• You read a Part 3 question and know which grammar it's inviting you to show
• You choose collocations, idioms and paraphrases the way a natural speaker does

The four sessions:

1. Why Fixing Every Grammar Mistake Is Actually Hurting Your Speaking Score (October 4)
What examiners score in Fluency and Grammar at Bands 5, 6 and 7, quoted word for word from the official descriptors. Two speakers answer the same question and make the same mistake, and only one of them stops to fix it. Guess which one scores higher. Phrases that give you a moment to think, the grammar mistakes your first language leaves behind, and how to drill them out before the exam. Three listening rounds where you decide which answer flows better.

2. Speaking Part 2: How to Never Run Out of Things to Say (And How to Say Them Properly) (October 18)
Two halves. The first is the one-minute prep, used properly. Why most long turns die at 30 seconds, how to plan with keywords in place of sentences, and how to turn four short notes into two full minutes. The second half is Pronunciation, the fourth criterion and a quarter of your score. Chunking, English rhythm, and the individual sounds that make an examiner mishear what you said. You plan a cue card live, then work through pronunciation drills you can keep using long after the session.

3. Speaking Part 3: Let the Question Choose Your Grammar (November 1)
Part 3 is where the examiner moves you into abstract topics, and most of its questions quietly invite a specific kind of grammar. Predictions call for future forms. "What would happen if" calls for conditionals. "How has it changed" calls for "used to" and the present perfect. Learn to hear what the question is asking for, then answer with the complex sentences that Grammatical Range rewards at Band 7: "a range of structures flexibly used."

4. Speaking Vocabulary: How Natural Speakers Choose Their Words (November 15)
The final session. At Band 7, Lexical Resource asks for "less common and idiomatic items" used with "an awareness of style and collocation," plus "effective use of paraphrase." In practice that means idioms that suit the moment, word pairs a fluent speaker would really use, and the ability to talk your way around a word you can't find. Which idioms help, which ones sound memorised, and how to paraphrase without freezing.

Who this is for

You're preparing for IELTS Speaking, Academic or General Training. The Speaking test is the same for both. You can hold a conversation in English, but your score sits between Band 5.5 and Band 6.5 and won't move. You suspect your English is better than your score says.

Speaking Unlocked shows you what the examiner is listening for, and how to give it to them.

You've studied for months. Maybe years. You've done the practice tests, watched the YouTube videos, memorised the vocabulary lists. And you're still not hitting your target band score.

Here's why.

Most IELTS candidates prepare without ever seeing how their exam is actually marked — what the examiner is looking for, what costs you points, and how small the gap between Band 6 and Band 7 actually is.

The Foundation Series fixes that. Three free live sessions that take you from "I'm doing everything right but my score won't move" to "I know exactly what to fix."

What changes after the series:

• You stop preparing for the wrong things and start targeting exactly what loses you marks
• You can read a Band 5 answer and a Band 7 answer side by side and explain the difference
• You build a preparation plan based on your actual weak points, not generic advice

The three sessions:

1. How IELTS Examiners Actually Mark Your Work (May 17) The four criteria that determine every band score - Task Response, Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range and Accuracy - in plain language. Most candidates fix the wrong thing. This session shows you what to fix instead.

2. Band 5 vs Band 7 - Can You Spot the Difference? (May 31) Four live practice rounds. You see two extracts, writing and speaking, and decide which one scores higher and why. The differences are smaller and more specific than anyone tells you.

3. What Band Score Are You Really At? (June 14) Mini-tests across all four skills. You self-assess, then I reveal the estimated band for each. Your weakest skill defines your overall score more than your strongest - this session shows you which one to focus on first.
